Rev. Dr. Momolu Armstrong Massaquoi was born unto the union of the late Mr. Jaiah Massaquoi and the late MaAnnie Kotee in Kakata, Margibi County, on April 26, 1970.
He began his primary education at the St. Joseph Catholic School from 1975-1980. He later enrolled at the LAMCO area School System (Area C School) in Yekepa from 1981-1983. He also attended the Bong Town School in Bong Mines from 1984-1986. He enrolled
at the LASS High School from 1987-1989. To complete his high school studies, Dr. Massaquoi enrolled at St. Mary High School from 1991-1992 where he obtained his High School Diploma.
Not being satisfied, and sensing the call of God, he matriculated at the Ghana Christian University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree Magna Cum Laude in Christian Ministries from 1995-1999.
With the desire to study to show himself approved unto God, Dr. Massaquoi enrolled in the Master’s program at the Jos ECWA Theological Seminary in Nigeria from 2003-2005, where he obtained a Master of Arts Degree in New Testament Studies.
Being thirsty to know more about the scripture and developing academic scholarship, Dr. Massaquoi received a scholarship from ECWA Theological Seminary after serving faithfully for four years to pursue a Doctorate program. He enrolled at the Nigeria Baptist Theological Seminary, Ogbomoso, where he obtained a Doctor of Philosophy degree in New Testament Language and Literature from 2009-2013.
Dr. Massaquoi as a minister of the Gospel has pastored several churches. He pastored the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Sanniquellie, Nimba County, where he also served as president of the Upper Nimba Baptist Youth Association. Later, he pastored Mount Olivet Baptist Church, Tema-Ghana, Alheria Baptist Church, Jos Nigeria, and Ori-oke Baptist Church, Ogbomoso, Nigeria.
He has also held several positions, namely, Principal, Levi H. Martin Baptist School, Sanniquellie; Adjunct Professor, Redeemed People’s Theological College, Jos, Nigeria; Adjunct Professor, Jos ECWA Theological Seminary, Kagoro; Professor, LAWNA Theological Seminary, Jos, Nigeria. Adjunct Professor, Evangelical Theological Seminary of West Africa, Liberia; Adjunct Professor, United Methodist University Graduate School, Liberia; Adjunct Professor, Liberia International Christian College, Liberia; President,
Barnabas International Ministries, Nigeria; Registrar, ECWA Theological Seminary,
Kagoro, Nigeria; Dean of Graduate School, ECWA Theological Seminary, Kagoro, Nigeria; Academic Dean, Ghana Bible Institute, Tema, Ghana, Vice President for Administration at the Liberia Baptist Theological Seminary to mention but a few.
He is presently the President of the Liberia Baptist Theological Seminary and a Research Fellow at Stellenbosch University in South Africa. Dr. Massaquoi is also the Senior Pastor of Howell Macedonia Baptist Church.
Dr. Massaquoi has won a lot of academic awards both locally and internationally. He is the author of six books and 26 articles published in reputable international academic journals. Two of his books are being used as textbooks around the world, namely, Essentials for Theological Research Methods and Handbook for Expository Preaching: Mandate, Methodology, and Model.
Dr. Massaquoi has been married to Mrs. Layahn Kou Massaquoi for the past 28 years, and God has blessed the union with four (4) children: Marion, Michaela, MaAnnie, and Michelle.
